RAEES (A Great Action Movie )

"Raees" is a Bollywood action crime film released in 2017, directed by Rahul Dholakia and starring Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role. The movie is set in the 1980s and 1990s in Gujarat, India, and is loosely based on the life of Abdul Latif, a notorious gangster who was involved in the illegal liquor trade during the prohibition in Gujarat. However, the filmmakers have stated that the film is a work of fiction and not a biopic. Here's a brief overview of the plot:

Raees Alam (played by Shah Rukh Khan) is an intelligent boy growing up in the poor neighborhood of Fatehpura in Gujarat. He works for a gangster named Jairaj, who is involved in the illegal liquor trade. Dissatisfied with being a small-time worker, Raees decides to start his own operation. He believes in the philosophy that every occupation, no matter how morally questionable, is valid as long as it provides for people's needs. With his friend Sadiq, Raees builds his empire, becoming the state's primary liquor baron.

His business philosophy is simple: he never harms the innocent and never backs down from a fight. This approach earns him a Robin Hood-like reputation among the people. However, his success does not go unnoticed. ACP Majmudar (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is tasked with taking down Raees and his illegal empire. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game between Raees and Majmudar, with Raees always managing to stay one step ahead.

As Raees's empire grows, so do his ambitions. He ventures into politics, following the advice that to secure his trade, he needs political backing. His foray into politics, however, brings a new set of challenges and enemies. Raees's involvement in a bombing plot further complicates matters, leading to a falling out with his mentor and a loss of support from the people who once adored him.

The movie culminates in a dramatic showdown between Raees and the police, led by ACP Majmudar. Despite his efforts to escape and start a new life with his wife and son, Raees is cornered and ultimately meets a tragic end.

"Raees" is known for its gritty portrayal of the bootlegging business, its action-packed sequences, and strong performances, especially by Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film also touches on themes of prohibition, politics, and the complex moralities of crime. With a mix of romance, drama, and action, "Raees" offers a compelling look at the life of a man who, despite his criminal activities, tries to live by a code of honor.
